Saturday 22nd of September was the last day of summer this year, and how lucky we were to be out and about in the sun, alongside the river otter hunting and gathering some plants to eat on the Edible Riverside course I run every Autumn here in Otterton
We found lime leaves, balckberries, hedgebedstraw, alexanders seeds, nettles, cowparsley…and many more along the wander, that was less than two miles.
The feast at the end we cooked up a himalayan balsam seed and burdock root curry, nettle pakoras, willowherb & sorrell & himalayan balsam flower salad, with watermint & cowparsely & yoghurt dressing.
Deeelish.
