What’s this munching on cleavers leaves?

While out foraging I come upon all kinds of interesting things. The other evening I spotted this character munching away on the leaves of some cleavers.

Upon investigation it turns out to be a bloody nose beetle larvae, Timarcha tenebricosa. The larvae and beetle are rather slow moving and like to munch on various members of the Gallium sp. (bedstraw) family. This one seemed  totally un-bothered by me pointing a phone at it to take pictures…and it was rather nice to have a slow moving target (compared to the bat I spotted a few weeks earlier flying around in the daylight!)
